The entry point for all of our services is a business telephone number that we provide to you. XL Telecom have access to telephone numbers across the full range of 01, 02, 03, 0800, 0808, 0843, 0844, 0871 and 07937 telephone numbers in the UK. We can provide international telephone numbers linking in to our services, including international toll free numbers and international in-country phone numbers. All of our services such as IVR, call recording, time plans work with all types of numbers.
It doesn’t matter if you are a small business with 2 employees or a global business with multiple offices that follows the sun – we can help supply a business telephone number that is easy to remember and achieves to goals that you are setting out to us in regards to your business or organisation. The correct telephone number in terms of charge band & “actual” number choice is important and we can be of great assistance. Here’s an easy to understand breakdown of the numbers;
UK geographic phone numbers – 01, 02, 03 numbers cost standard UK rates to call and are inclusive in all UK mobile minutes. We charge a small fee of 4ppm to receive calls to our virtual 01, 02 and 03 UK numbers routing to a landline, with no set-up charge and no monthly rental for our standard service. Typical uses are where businesses want to be able to show a local phone number but want the ability to route calls to distant or multiple locations without expensive call diversion charges and complex diverts.

UK freefone numbers – 0800 and 0808 numbers are free to call. We charge 5ppm to receive calls on 0800 and 0808 numbers with no-set up charge and no monthly rental for our standard service. Typical uses include new business, preferred customers, and emergency service provision.
UK national numbers 0843 and 0844 cost the caller 5p per min (inc. VAT). We provide the business using these numbers with an incoming revenue of 2.5ppm which we pay out to the business. Unlike many of our competitors, our 0843 and 0844 numbers work worldwide, so there is no need to advertise a separate international number for your callers. There is no set-up charge and no monthly rental for our standard service. Typical services include main business numbers, customer service, radio/ TV campaigns, ticket booking lines and advertisement management, where you want to be able to track callers.
UK national extra numbers – 0871 cost the caller 10p per min (inc. VAT) and provide the business using these number with an incoming revenue of 6.5ppm. These numbers do not work outside of the UK, so we would only recommend that these are used for business to business services based in the UK. Typical uses include customer service and technical support. Businesses using these numbers will also need to register their use with PhonePayPlus if consumers will be calling them. We do not charge any set-up charges or monthly rental fees for these numbers on our standard service.
UK mobile numbers – 07937 are standard UK mobile numbers and provide a business with the ability to receive calls to a virtual mobile number and use call recording and voice mail without the need to actually buy and top-up a SIM card and forward the number or access the mobile voice mail service. We do not charge any set-up charges or monthly rental fees for these numbers on our standard service.
International numbers – International numbers, such as 1800 numbers in the U.S.A. have many uses and make it easier for your international customers to be able to contact you. We can provide toll free and local numbers in a large number of countries – please ask us for details of the country you require numbers in.
